Blue Starfish at Mansod Wall

By acelyn On September 29th, 2008

We dropped by in Mansod Wall…one of the scuba diving sites in Talicud Island located in Davao. Just around the “trench” are beautiful corals in different kinds, sizes and colors. Everybody was thrilled to see such wonder. My sisters, BIL and Ace had fun snorkeling while I was taking photos of the corals from the boat. Our DSLR has no underwater casing so I can’t take photos of the corals under the water. Our youngest, Che2x, was ecstatic to see blue starfish. She got it from the water, took photos of it and put it back in its habitat before we left the place.

More critters here and weekend photos here.

Rain clouds in azure sky

By acelyn On September 26th, 2008

I have noticed I am only consistent in posting for one meme in this blog. I think I never failed to post for Sky Watch here. For the most obvious reason, I don’t fail to take the opportunity to show my piece of sky because I love taking sky photos and I am enjoying this meme so much. Anyway, here’s a photo I took days ago from our yard. I remember ranting about how unlucky I am to not have a very clear view of the sky from our place because of the coconut trees around the yard and the bananas of the neighbors. They are all blocking a very beautiful view of the sky especially during sunset. Anyway, here’s a photo I took one afternoon. Rain clouds are forming in the east but I noticed a different color of sun’s rays peeping through our main door so I went out to check what’s happening. I was really awed at the sight of different shades of clouds in the west and the deep blue sky. Hurriedly I took the camera inside the house and aim it in the sky….regardless of the banana leaves that are blocking my view.

Sky Watch Friday: Mr. Sun’s smile

By acelyn On September 18th, 2008

Photography has become my passion and my favorite subjects, anything in nature. Frankly speaking, I had a hard time taking photos of people. I felt like I don’t know how to properly shoot human subjects because I am more into landscapes and nature. Hence, I am always looking forward for this day so that I can share my photos. Here’s one of the best photos I took last sunrise shoot in Sta. Ana Wharf, Davao City. I say one of the best because I have numerous BEST photos.LOL. It’s really hard to choose which photo to post. So here’s one of the photos I had printed for the mini exhibit we will be doing in a friend’s coffee house. Wanna see my other photos? Just let me know.

Happy Sky Watch everybody! Visit here for more entries.

Balloons

By acelyn On September 16th, 2008

Kid’s favorite and most especially my niece Ella’s favorite. When she was younger, she doesn’t want only one balloon but M-A-N-Y. In my childhood years, we could only have a balloon during town fiesta. Balloons on stick is not yet introduced then so we have helium balloons that we tie in our wrists so it won’t fly. Seems I have that fixation over balloons because it was not satisfied then that’s why when I see balloons these days, I can’t help but say “wow!”. Would you believe I am dreaming to celebrate my birthday with lotsa balloons in different colors? I would really do that on my next birthday and if that happens, it would be my first time to celebrate a birthday with balloons.

Daybreak at Sta. Ana Wharf

By acelyn On September 15th, 2008

Ace and I joined the sunrise shoot in Sta. Ana Wharf las Saturday. It was our first time to shoot away from home for a sunrise. When we arrived at the location, it’s already daybreak and here’s my first photo for the day while walking to where my fellow shooters were posted.

Camera Critters

After a great shot of a Gold Fish in the pet shop and was featured as a CC capture, I went back to that pet shop and shoot another critter for my CC entry. Since we are only limited to 2 canines and 1 feline in our home, the most convenient place for me to get CC captures is in a pet shop. I am done with one pet shop and will be hopping to another one next Sunday.

TGIF! Here we are again, day for sky watch. I love posting for Sky Watch so much as I have the chance to see the beautiful skies from each postie’s place and though we are taking photos from the same spot over and over again, no two photos are exactly the same. Every sunset and sunrise has its own story, own magnificent beauty. If you’ve been following my posts, you will notice I have posted my sky watch entries taken from the same spot….my favorite sunset spot and yet no two photos I have took on different sunsets are exactly the same. If only I could watch sunset everyday, I would love to do it and will never be tired of watching Mr. Sun as he goes down the horizon.

More of my Sky Watch entries at Life’s Lessons, Kerslyn’s Comfort Zone, and Piece of Mine. Happy Sky Watch everybody! Visit here for more stunning sky photos from different places.
