Isla Reta I and II, Talicud Island

By Kerslyn On November 11th, 2008

My first time to join My World Tuesday! Almost an hour boat ride from Davao City is the Talicud Island. It is known for its pristine white sand beaches. Some beach fronts are not yet developed so it does not attract a lot of beach goers. But if you are like me who wanted a more private place, I am sure you would love it there. One of the famous and pioneering resorts in Talicud Island is the Isla Reta Beach Resort – owned by the Reta family of Davao City. It’s a nice place to relax and swim!

Another 15-minute boat ride from Isla Reta Beach Resort is another paradise, the Isla Reta II. The water is so clear, and so cool, with white sand and big waves. Only few are going to this place so it is heaven for me. It is not yet developed and I hope the owners will leave it as is because it is more beautiful than having structures all around for it will only destroy the real beauty of nature.

Thank you for taking a peek at my world here in Davao, Philippines. Visit My World’s home to see other places around the world. Happy Tuesday!

Kabacan’s sky at dusk

I’ve been a sunrise and sunset watcher since my childhood years. Unluckily, we don’t have a camera to capture those beautiful moments. Now when we went home to Kabacan, Cotabato last week, I prayed for a beautiful sunrise and sunset. Though afternoons are always wet during our stay, last Sunday afternoon was a great one. While we were waiting for dinner at our cousin’s house to celebrate his son’s birthday in advance (yes, in advance because Biboy’s birthday is Nov. 3), I noticed the reddish clouds in the sky after the sun has gone down and asked my sister Carol to accompany me at the end of the block facing the ricefield so that there would be no obstructions in the photo but she said “no” thinking that it is not safe to go there. Thus, I’m contained at taking photos in the front yard of my cousin’s place. The moon is quite visible but too tiny in the photo that you wouldn’t notice it as a moon at first glance.

Hope you are enjoying Sky Watch! Visit here for more sky photos.
