A whole new world

A cousin’s daughter graduated in college yesterday as Magna Cum Laude and here’s the flowers in her bouquet that the proud Momma bought for her daughter.

Yesterday’s commencement exercises reminded me of my own experience almost a decade ago. Gosh! I am that old? Seeing the graduates and proud parents beaming with joy is the same sight I have seen during my graduation. What they really don’t realize that moment is the real life that they are about to face….the world of job hunting and unemployment. While others are lucky to land a job immediately, many would still wander in the job hunting world. Hence, good luck to the graduates!

Before I forget, Che2x’s graduation rites will be next week and I haven’t decided yet what to give her as a graduation gift. She’s been asking for a compact digital camera (but I don’t think I could give it to her). That girl is quite demanding huh. Few years ago, she was asking for an MP3 player because she has seen many adolescents have it and it was the time MP3 players are sold in all gadget stores…like mushrooms sprouting anywhere. Hmmm….maybe I could only afford a bouquet of flowers for her graduation.
