On furniture

By acelyn On June 14th, 2009

Finally I was able to get myself a an office/computer chair. We hit SM after the worship service to check for a computer chair but they don’t have what I am looking for and what they have is too expensive! So after lunch, we went to Makro (for the first time). Glad they’re on sale so without a blink of an eye, I got myself one executive mid-back office chair. Yohoo! After so long. Anyway, Ace and I were planning to go back there (since I already got my membership card) and check for other items on sale. I want the  outdoor furniture coffee table set that I have seen that could also be used indoors since we don’t have much space to set up the said furnitures. Hope it will be on 50% off next time.*big grin*

Silo boys

By acelyn On June 14th, 2009

I saw pressure washers online and I remembered it is exactly what we need in my former company. Since the company don’t own one, management opt to hire the services of one agency that does the job and the people are flying from the country’s capital, stay for weeks here in Davao to clean the Silos and we call those cleaners Silo boys. Cost-wise, it is effective than getting a pressure washer and some employees will do the cleaning because it is only done every six months. So it is not that wise to get something that the company can’t use often.

Torn between lens and computer

By acelyn On June 13th, 2009

One thing that keeps us connected with some of my HS classmates is our passion in photography. Some are interested to join us in our hobby soon (and we, the Canonians, hope they’ll be getting the same system so we could share gears within the group). Anyway, one is planning to get a computer where she could upload and process her photos but she is torn between getting a new lens for her coming travel to Bangkok next month or materializing that plan of getting a computer. I told her she could ask her brother to get her a computer at buy[dot]com then ship it here. I guess it is much cheaper than getting the item from a local store here. She’ll just choose from the desktop computers, netbooks, or laptop computers available so her brother could buy it for her. Days after, she told me her Kuya will be buying a computer for her. What a lucky gal! So lucky to have a big bro who gives her what she wants. :-)

Here’s another Sky Photo taken last year. I was sorting out my photo files when I saw this and I am sure it’s a perfect entry for Looking at the Sky on Friday.

Happy Friday everybody and Happy 111th Independence Day to all Filipinos!!!!

Not about edges, but the total look

By acelyn On June 11th, 2009

Did I mention here that I dreaded our flat’s kitchen sink? It’s not only because it is tiled and most of the grout has given up but I really don’t like the corners. It takes time to clean it that I need a really pointed-tip brush to reach those edges joining the bottom and the sides. I tried cleaning it with an old toothbrush but it didn’t make cleaning that easy. How I wish the apartment owners installed a stainless steel sink that has no sharp edges. But hey, I saw zero radius sinks or also known as angular sinks that has 90 degree angle edges. I thought I don’t like angular sinks, but with zero radius sink, I think I changed my mind for I love its look not to mention that it is made of high-quality Chromium or Nickel stainless steel. So nice to have that kind of sink!

Camping

By acelyn On June 9th, 2009

One of my blogging buddy went to a long-week camping with her whole family. They brought along their RV which the husband bought so last year (I guess) so they could go on camping as much as they want without too much hassle. So Mommy Julie was absent from the blogosphere for a week and when I checked on her blog last night, she already posted the chronicles of their week-long vacation (and I have read only DAY 1 of their trip so I need to catch up).
