Good morning Cebu!

By acelyn On October 30th, 2009

Good morning! Greetings from my hotel room in Cebu City! I thought it’s still 5AM so I was shocked to see the time in the wall clock – it’s 5 minutes to 7AM. Today must be a long day though I don’t have a meeting anymore. Today is time for meet up with friends and churchmates, shopping for bring-homes, and going around the city with my colleague! Yay! Would you believe I flew here for just a 1-hour informal meeting with our COO, then more than an hour meeting with the rest of Cebu Team and a dinner at Bigby’s Ayala? For our department meeting, we could have had a conference chat over YM but I am glad Mark called us for a personal meeting here.

Anyway, I need to get going but before I disappear from the online world, I need to check first for spring plungers. Have a great weekend everybody!

Fixed

By acelyn On October 28th, 2009

I can’t remember if I was able to mention here about our leaking kitchen sink faucet. I don’t know how to fix it so I just tied it tightly to prevent from leaking. After weeks, Ace seemed to be tired of looking at the leaking faucet so he decided to replace it..yet, with the same not-so-high quality faucet like the Hansgrohe faucets that I’ve seen online. Oh well, we don’t have a choice because this place is not ours…we are just renting so we’ll just until we have our own house that we could dress up with whatever fixtures we want. Can’t wait for that time!

Is it shopping time yet?

By acelyn On October 26th, 2009

…for some, it is… because they say Christmas is a few months from now and it is a time of gift-giving. Oh well, we also have tradition of gift-giving during new year so I might as well join others in shopping. Yahoo!!! Anyway, for me shopping should be anytime as long as I have the money and I need something, nobody could stop me from buying and we started buying our needs/wants weeks ago in preparation for our coming trip next month…not for new year’s presents yet. What we initially got are pair of walking shorts for Ace, and a few tops. No shoes yet because we will not be needing those in our trip as we are planning to travel our comfy footwear for strolling so a Naot shoes is not included in the list though I want to get a pair for Ace so he could use it for work while he is waiting for their company-issued safety shoes.

Box cutter

By acelyn On October 25th, 2009

My mind is preoccupied about the business venture that I am planning to try in the coming month. It started after chatting with my online friend who has a PX store and I am planning to get some stuffs from her at a wholesale price. :-) Hence I am already thinking of how should I ship stuffs especially those that needs utmost care such as perfumes and lotions. I’ll have to check with her how she packs those items for shipping so it would reach its destination intact. But for now, I am thinking of making a craft box for those items. I tried doing some before and I admit it was never easy especially that I don’t have a decent box cutter. So if I will finally decide to make craft boxes for the stuffs, then I need to procure a high quality box cutter like the one I saw in Martor USA – an online site selling a wide array of cutters. Anyway, I’ll have to check what’s the best way to ship those items first before making the final decision.

Saw this beautiful flower in my aunt’s yard when we went to their place after the burial of my uncle the past few months. According to aunt, this was planted by my cousin who hanged himself to die last year. Hence I took this photo in memory of my cousin

Business meeting

By acelyn On October 17th, 2009

I am really excited to see my HS classmate who’s into business and stock trading because we’ll be having a session about the latter. However, i still need to learn about the how’s and why’s of that endeavor so I need to consult Mr. G. about it before we have a tutorial. Also, I can’t wait to share to him about investing in gold coins. I think it is the safest way to invest because gold’s market value never goes down. It is always appreciating so we’re sure of the return of investment plus profit as long as we get the gold coins from a reputable company like Monex Deposit Company. Now I can’t wait for the day of our business “meeting”.

Far behind

By acelyn On October 17th, 2009

While watching one of my fave teleserye, I was surprised to know that Mesothelioma is in their script. So people in this part of the globe are also aware of that cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. In the story, one child is now suffering from Mesothelioma while others have suffered and died. I wonder if there’s a malignant Mesothelioma treatment available in our country because if we speak of new technologies with regards to medicine, we are far behind other countries.
