Invitations Mardi Gras
Haven’t been to a Mardi Gras Party so if ever I will receive Mardi Gras Invitations I am sure I will be beyond thrilled. What I am excited about Mardi Gras is the mask! For sure it will be fun taking photos of people wearing different designs of masks.
The thought of wanting to attend Mardi Gras Party came to me when I chance upon this beautiful invitation in purple (I am loving Purple now, promise!) at http://www.holiday-invitations.com where Mardi Gras party invitations, mardi gras sayings, and Free Mardi Gras invitations are available. Holiday-Invitations has a lot of unique invitations where you can add a photo, picture or logo to any card on their site. Don’t worry about the lead-time for shipping because they print and ship your order the SAME DAY it is approved. Isn’t that amazing? Next time you need to order an invitation, get it from the above-mentioned site.

Bed of beautiful Lisianthus in white and old rose adorned the floral float entry of Malagos Garden during the 2009 Kadayawan Festival floral float parade.

Meet Nemo. Not the Nemo that swims but the Nemo that is made of beautiful Dendrobium flowers “floating” in Hyndrangea flowers that symbolizes water. This was one of the elements of Malagos Garden’s entry to the 2009 Kadayawan sa Davao Floral Float Parade. Malagos Garden’s Floral Float bagged the 1st prize in big float category (no wonder because they own the biggest flower farm here in Davao so they could use as many flowers as they want.

Nope, we’re not in Masskara Festival. This was taken by Ace during the 2009 Kadayawan Festival last week. This is actually my first time to see mascaras being sold during Kadayawan (or I just missed it the previous years?).

Davao City was so colurful during the week-long celebration of Kadayawan Festival. One of the highlights of the said festival is the Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan or the street dancing competition among contingents coming from Davao City and the neighboring provinces. I and Ace didn’t get media passes so we couldn’t shoot in front of the stage for the showdown of the competing teams hence we just roam around the streets and from there he took this photo of two lovely ladies in their yellow Muslim costume.

Lanterns made of bamboo stick frame and colored plastic sheets hanging by the post of a trellis in Ranchero Grill in Davao City. Looking at it, it seems so easy to make but mind you, only skillful hands can do it. I have tried making such lantern before but I am not successful in putting up the sticks together. I can do the tail, though.

We missed the parade and only few of the floats were parked in SM when we got there. Here’s some of the photos courtesy of my partner, Ace.
