Did I read it right? There’s an electric fireplace out in the market?! Maybe I am just too behind with this thing because we are in the tropics and Amish fireplace is not a necessity unless we live in the mountains. This must be something interesting because there’s no need for firewood or coal to make fire. I just don’t know how exactly it works so I’d better check that one out. I am just intrigued. Who knows, fate will bring us to a mansion over the hilltop that we need a fireplace. So an electric fireplace is one good thing to consider.

Since the start of the year, I told myself to do some reading real prints apart from facing and reading blogs and other literatures in the internet. So I decided to allot some amount for magazines or books each month. Then I started with back issue of Good Housekeeping magazine (that’s December 2009). I wasn’t able to immediately read it from cover to cover because Che2x found a new hobby – and that’s reading – so she read the magazine last night while I was busy working. It was only after lunch today when I was able to get hold of the magazine and start reading it again. There’s a DIY home decorating/make-over tip for the bathroom and that is painting the ceramic tiles. It’s so nice in the photo that I wanted to try it. If only this is our own home, I would love to paint the ceramic tiles to give our bathroom a new look.

Ella calls these CRYSTAL BALLS and claims to be multiplying by “giving birth”.LOL. She actually gave a pack of these to me and I find it a nice replacement to decorative stones.

After almost a year, we finally have our own sofa set! Initial plan was to get a sala set made of hardwood. But Ace changed preference that he wanted something where he could comfortably lounge while watching TV so we got a sofa set from his 2009 performance bonus. Thanks Unifrutti! Now our apartment unit looks like a real home. It’s more homey now and Ace kept on telling me he likes it more now that our living room can now be called “living room”. After the sofa set, Ace’ next project is a TV rack. For more than a year, our TV is placed on top of a center table. Now he wanted a real TV rack so we checked different furniture stores but we didn’t find anything that is decent enough for our budget. What Ace saw are plasma mounts that obviously is not designed for our TV. So we have to postpone buying the rack for the meantime that stores are running out of stock of what we needed. Maybe next year, when people will lie low shopping, we could find a decent one suited to our budget.

Been to a restaurant with very nice restroom lighting that I intentionally stayed there for more couple of minutes. Ace was waiting for me outside and he become worried why I was already overstaying inside the restroom. Oh well, I didn’t do any “miracle” inside that restroom. I just stayed there and enjoyed the beautiful lighting. I wish we could have that kind of ambience in our future home so I will also learn to stay long inside the bathroom. So far I am not an anal person who enjoys staying long in a restroom or bathroom but I am sure I will love spending more than a couple of minutes more inside the bathroom once we have a nice bathroom lighting . I am sure Ace will spend more time inside the bathroom then.

Our micro-fiber blanket is due for washing but I am not sure if I can handle it. The weight alone will break my backbones! Guess we’ll gonna take it to the laundry shop together with the comforter that we have used that I haven’t washed yet. If Ace won’t help me with it, then I can’t manage to wash it alone especially that our washing machine is not automatic. I will really break a bone washing either the comforter or the micro-fiber blanket. How I wish there’s Ladybug steam cleaners around here or available in the laundry shops so we would be sure that dust mites, mold and mildew and the like will be totally removed from our beddings (should there’s any).

I can’t remember if I was able to mention here about our leaking kitchen sink faucet. I don’t know how to fix it so I just tied it tightly to prevent from leaking. After weeks, Ace seemed to be tired of looking at the leaking faucet so he decided to replace it..yet, with the same not-so-high quality faucet like the Hansgrohe faucets that I’ve seen online. Oh well, we don’t have a choice because this place is not ours…we are just renting so we’ll just until we have our own house that we could dress up with whatever fixtures we want. Can’t wait for that time!

Haven’t seen an elderly, sick and physically handicapped-friendly bathroom, but with comfort rooms, I’ve seen a lot. For bathrooms, I never thought there could be a better way to make it user-friendly to the olds, sick and physically handicapped until I saw walk in tubs in superiorwalkintubs[dot]com. The walk-in tubs is great for those who cannot bathe in regular tubs hence it would then be convenient for them to bathe regularly. Thanks to those who have seen this issue and being too innovative in addressing this concern. It sure made life of the people who can’t bathe in regular tubs a lot more easier.

The plan on getting an office table for my home office is still a plan. Since we are getting a house, and it is not as spacious as the place we are living now, all plans of getting home stuffs especially furnitures were all pending. It would then be better to buy the stuffs that we needed should we see the house so we could estimate how big the stuff that we may be needing. Anyway, the office table that I am eyeing is still displayed at the mall together with the office chairs and classroom desks. Yay! I really can’t wait for the time that we’ll be buying the stuffs that we need. For now we are saving for some home stuffs that we need should we transfer to our own home.

Candles are one of my weakness. I see to it that I pass by the candle displays in the department store or the grocery everytime we are at the mall. I am drooling over the beautiful pillar candles but all I could afford is a pack of scented votive candle or tealights. Sometimes lighting scented candle before going to bed is therapeutic in a sense that it relaxes me and Ace. We noticed we’re having a relaxing, deep sleep each time we have that candle therapy but it isn’t always safe as we usually doze off before we could put off the candle. Though I put the candle holder on the floor away from any combustible materials, I am still afraid that the candle that we might left burning will cause fire. Hence I am considering to get beautiful candle sconces as it will not only be more safe than my small candle holders but it will also add beauty and elegance to the room. By this I am looking forward to have a candle-lit room for a relaxing and warm atmosphere. Yay!
