We are photography hobbyists and we find it painful on the pocket especially if it’s a quite expensive hobby. For us, we find photography addicting yet expensive especially if there’s no return of investment. Expensive for us who barely had extra money left after all the bills have been paid but for those who earns so much and don’t even know how and where to spend their riches, engaging in expensive hobby doesn’t hurt their bank accounts that much. Guess what are these? My SIL gave this to Ella last week. The little girl was so happy that finally it was given to her. She actually played with it the night Borski arrived home bringing with her those two items. She said it’s from McDo. Hmm…maybe their freebies for the holidays. So what are these cute stuffs? These are?

If there’s one thing that should be easy to buy and yet cannot find ourselves getting one are socks. I’ve told Ace many times we should buy additional pairs for him but we can’t seem to force ourselves to pick even just a pair everytime we’re at the mall. He would just turn around and say “I still have enough”. Yes, he has enough pairs good for two work weeks but half of it are worn out. He still have those socks he was using in his previous job and those socks are serving him for almost 5 years. Same with Ace, I also find it hard to let go of my socks even how torn they are. It will take me almost forever to get a new pair though I could afford it. Read the rest of this entry »

This is what I am looking forward to….the festive mood of the season so I could take photos.
I intentionally bought candles and candle holders to be lighted during dinner. My sister Carol did the simple flower arrangement and the centerpiece so we had an elegant table setting for the Christmas eve dinner.

Canon Philippines sponsored COLORS of “A” SPECTRUM, an activity for the children with autism held in Eden Nature Park in Davao City with one of the country’s known people in Photography Mr. and Mrs. John Chua. It was a day of photo opportunity for the children together with some Fanatic Photographers Society members who volunteered to assist the children during the entire activity. It was supposed to be a very memorable activity but I missed it because I wasn’t able to sign up to join the FPS volunteers. Looking at the photos taken during the activity and the stories shared by the mentors, it was indeed a great moment that I failed to experience. I hope Canon will sponsor same event in the future and will surely make it a point that I can take part in the activity. Just wondering if children with cerebral palsy can possibly have the same activity as the children with autism.

Been eyeing for photo albums and photo frames for our tons of photos but the problem is….what will I place in the albums and frame? Haven’t printed the photos yet.LoL. So there’s really a reason why I can’t buy frames and albums this time. However, we’ve been to one of the stores that sells photography gears last night and no…we’re not going to buy another accessory for our gear but we’re there just to check what’s new. The digital frame caught my attention but it’s more costly than the one I saw in another store. So if we’d get a digital frame, no need to print the pictures.

We’re getting ready for Christmas and before we head to the mall for a last minute shopping, I’ll blog for moolah :-). We’re not actually celebrating Christmas but it’s been a yearly tradition for gift giving since childhood aside from the gift giving in my mother’s side every new year. Mamang sees to it that we receive something during this time so we’ll not be envious to other kids in the neighborhood who’s enjoying the season. Read the rest of this entry »

Being into photography is a lot of fun…and a lot of expenses too. If we sum up all our expenses for this hobby, we might have started building a house and it must have been a quarter done. However, the satisfaction we get from photography is priceless much more if our photos are recognized. We may not gain from photography by engaging into photography business but we could join photo contests and I am just glad I bumped into PhotographyCornerdotcom while searching for photography-related sites. What kept me interested with PhotographyCorner is the contest it is holding such as the 2008 Photograph of the Year with approximately $11,500 worth of prizes! Yes, that’s big bucks so I wouldn’t have a second thought in joining some of our best photos. Who knows, one of it will bag even just the lowest prize. This is good news for all photo enthusiasts. Check out the site and find out how to join. See your photos there!

Ella, my niece is such a big chololate eater. When they’re here and she finds chocolate in the ref, she will really ask for it. If left unnoticed, she could eat a whole toblerone. I wonder how she manage to eat such sweet candies in just a few moments. When they’re here a few months ago, she spotted on a chocolate I and Ace were keeping for months. Ace wouldn’t want to eat it and wait until it’s best before date that was 12.18.08. The date 12.18 is very important to us and it’s a rare opportunity to chance by a chocolate with that best before date so we keep it and are planning to eat it on Dec. 18. So when Ella saw the chocolate hiding behind some stuff in the fridge, she can’t wait to fill her little mouth with it. And so she was sweet talking to me “Tita, pwede kainin yung chocolate mo?” (Tita, can I eat your chocolate?). Who could resist that little girl? Read the rest of this entry »
