This was taken last year but  I wanted to keep on looking at this photo (one of my faves) that Ace took as we are leaving the vanishing island in Samal during the Island Hopping organized by his colleagues in Unifrutti. Read the rest of this entry »

Sunset over Mt. Talinis (Cuernos de Negros)

By acelyn On November 28th, 2008

Hubby had the chance to shoot in Dumaguete City. I guess the mountain range is part of Mt. Talinis (Cuernos de Negros or Horns of Negros), a potentially active volcano in Negros Oriental. When I first saw this photo, the clouds seems like a volcanic smoke to me. But hubby confirmed that they are clouds. Only the warm color of sunset made it look like a a smoke.

Warm hue at Davao Crocodile Park

By acelyn On October 3rd, 2008

This was taken the other day at Davao Crocodile Park. It was petting time with some of the animals in the park when this was taken. Ella, my niece is calling on his Tito Ace to take her photo holding a Phyton and she did wait for a couple of minutes because Ace was busy taking photos of the sky. As much as Ace enjoyed shooting the animals, he had a great time shooting for Sky Watch. This photo was taken by Ace and never enhanced using a picture editor. Congrats, hon. You did a great job for Sky Watch!

Rain clouds in azure sky

By acelyn On September 26th, 2008

I have noticed I am only consistent in posting for one meme in this blog. I think I never failed to post for Sky Watch here. For the most obvious reason, I don’t fail to take the opportunity to show my piece of sky because I love taking sky photos and I am enjoying this meme so much. Anyway, here’s a photo I took days ago from our yard. I remember ranting about how unlucky I am to not have a very clear view of the sky from our place because of the coconut trees around the yard and the bananas of the neighbors. They are all blocking a very beautiful view of the sky especially during sunset. Anyway, here’s a photo I took one afternoon. Rain clouds are forming in the east but I noticed a different color of sun’s rays peeping through our main door so I went out to check what’s happening. I was really awed at the sight of different shades of clouds in the west and the deep blue sky. Hurriedly I took the camera inside the house and aim it in the sky….regardless of the banana leaves that are blocking my view.

Sky Watch Friday: Mr. Sun’s smile

By acelyn On September 18th, 2008

Photography has become my passion and my favorite subjects, anything in nature. Frankly speaking, I had a hard time taking photos of people. I felt like I don’t know how to properly shoot human subjects because I am more into landscapes and nature. Hence, I am always looking forward for this day so that I can share my photos. Here’s one of the best photos I took last sunrise shoot in Sta. Ana Wharf, Davao City. I say one of the best because I have numerous BEST photos.LOL. It’s really hard to choose which photo to post. So here’s one of the photos I had printed for the mini exhibit we will be doing in a friend’s coffee house. Wanna see my other photos? Just let me know.

Happy Sky Watch everybody! Visit here for more entries.

Daybreak at Sta. Ana Wharf

By acelyn On September 15th, 2008

Ace and I joined the sunrise shoot in Sta. Ana Wharf las Saturday. It was our first time to shoot away from home for a sunrise. When we arrived at the location, it’s already daybreak and here’s my first photo for the day while walking to where my fellow shooters were posted.

Happy WS everybody! Join us here and have fun!

TGIF! Here we are again, day for sky watch. I love posting for Sky Watch so much as I have the chance to see the beautiful skies from each postie’s place and though we are taking photos from the same spot over and over again, no two photos are exactly the same. Every sunset and sunrise has its own story, own magnificent beauty. If you’ve been following my posts, you will notice I have posted my sky watch entries taken from the same spot….my favorite sunset spot and yet no two photos I have took on different sunsets are exactly the same. If only I could watch sunset everyday, I would love to do it and will never be tired of watching Mr. Sun as he goes down the horizon.

Warm Sunset

By acelyn On September 5th, 2008

My sunset photo is here again for most obvious reason – I love sunsets! Here’s a warm before -the-sunset photo taken last month. It’s been quite sometime since I had a sunset shoot due to the weather and I am hoping I could catch it next week ‘coz I already miss my “me and nature” time. I wonder how my sunset shots would look using a CPL. Happy Sky Watch!

Another Sunset Moment

By acelyn On August 22nd, 2008

Landscape photography is addicting. Isn’t it obvious? I think I already bored you for posting sunsets taken in the same spot. But as I have mentioned in my previous post, I would not get tired going back to my favorite sunset spot over and over again. Not now that I have discovered a trek going to a higher place. I am sure sunset over there is much more breathtaking. I hope I could go there next week to have another sunset shoot. Who wanted another sunset shoot from me? Raise your eyebrows.LOL. Just kidding. Happy Friday!

August 14 Sunset

By acelyn On August 15th, 2008

What could I say? Nature is so wonderful and unpredictable. After weeks of overcast afternoons, yesterday (August 14) was one of the best. I peeked out of the window if thick clouds are covering the west and I am glad it was not so I grab the Canon 400D and off I went to my favorite sunset watching spot. Many times I have watched the sun going down but no two sunsets are the same even I am in the same place. I wouldn’t get tired of going in the same place over and over again to watch the sun go down. Happy Friday! More of Sky Watchers here. More of sunset photos in my flickr.
