Another new fave flower…Lisianthus! I consider this a lovely flower for it resembles a rose in one some way. I think this plant grows easily unlike the roses but I am not sure if it needs high maintenance.
Took this photo at the entry of Malagos Garden during the 2009 Kadayawan Festival’s Pamulak sa Kadalanan (Floral Float Parade).

Saw this beautiful flower in my aunt’s yard when we went to their place after the burial of my uncle the past few months. According to aunt, this was planted by my cousin who hanged himself to die last year. Hence I took this photo in memory of my cousin

Meet Nemo. Not the Nemo that swims but the Nemo that is made of beautiful Dendrobium flowers “floating” in Hyndrangea flowers that symbolizes water. This was one of the elements of Malagos Garden’s entry to the 2009 Kadayawan sa Davao Floral Float Parade. Malagos Garden’s Floral Float bagged the 1st prize in big float category (no wonder because they own the biggest flower farm here in Davao so they could use as many flowers as they want.

My late Mamang has this Dancing Lady in her collection of orchids before but I wasn’t too attracted to it maybe because of its small flowers and this isn’t yellow isn’t my fave color.
Lately I saw Dancing Lady other variety in different color then I realized Dancing Lady looks beautiful in its original color – YELLOW.
This is my entry for Today’s Flowers and Mellow Yellow Monday.

We used to have this kind of orchid hanging by our living room window when I was still a kid. Ours was only bearing flowers smaller than the on in the picture but they look totally the same! The plant grew too old that my late Mamang has to throw it because it isn’t bearing flowers anymore. Then last Kadayawan, I saw this orchid again and I was like “wish Mamang didn’t throw her orchids before”. We could have revived it and it maybe bearing flowers that big if it was only well-fertilized.

Here’s another shade of Gerbera from my flower photos taken last Araw ng Dabaw’s Agro-Industrial Trade Fair. I just love this kind of plant and would like to grow one but it may not survive here in the city. Maybe at Daddy’s farm it will.
