My ten peso Bangkok Kalachuchi
By Kerslyn On June 11th, 2010Teheee! After almost two years of waiting, my Bangkok Kalachuchi (Adenium obesum) plant bear flowers weeks after we moved. How stupid I am not to take photos of the first few flowers and what I only took are the second batch of flowers from another branch. It was worth the wait. I bought a cultured plant (around 3 inches tall then) for PhP10 during the Kadayawan 2008 Agri-Trade Fair. After two years of watering it and occasionally fertilizing it, flower buds start appearing a week after we moved from the apartment. I wasn’t expecting it will flower this soon! How I wish I know how to culture plants so I could produce hundreds of this in no time. A degree in horticulture is a must for me to mass produce plants from a single tissue but there’s no way I would go back to school just to get that degree. I just wanna learn the technicalities in tissue culture, that’s it. But if you are interested, I would suggest my alma mater or you just research college degrees where you will find accredited universities or colleges offering horticulture or tissue culture.
