This is my sister and her classmate’s entry in centerpiece decoration during the JIB’s 2nd skills competition. Sadly, they didn’t bagged any place. There are other better entries that didn’t even get to the top 3. Anyway, it’s a contest so it depends upon the judges’ preference.

She hasn’t shown me their first output during their practice and if I have seen it, I should have suggested to use white or yellow flowers to add contrast between the foil paper being used as gift wrapper and the fruits.

They relied on the florist’ comment during their rehearsal that it looks good..no other things to improve and they were thinking he might be one of the judges so they didn’t bother to improve their work. That florist is a known wedding florist at coordinator here in Davao and now I’ve got doubts on his capability.hahaha Seems I’ve got better eyes than him.*wink*

Christmas is truly in the air. We went to SM City last Sunday night where Ace bought the lens he gave me. My sister Che2x had a haircut afterwards so we headed to where I and Ace used to have our hair cut. There I got this photo of plastic poinsettias arranged in a wreath hanging in the parlor’s ceiling. Literally, Christmas is in the air.

Happy Ruby Tuesday! Share your photos of something RED here.

One of the skills that I would like to learn…fruit carving. I know this isn’t easy as I have seen only HRM students can do it or those who are trained to do so. My sister, Che2x doesn’t even know or have not tried doing it. It should be included in one of their subjects in Hotel and Restaurant Management. But then she wanted to learn on her own and asked me to buy her a carving knife which is more expensive than the ordinary knife we use in the kitchen.
By the way, this photo is taken at the reception in hubby’s sister’s wedding the other month. I was eyeing for this so I could bring it home and look at it closely how it was carved but somebody was luckier than me. I wonder if anybody would dare eating this carved watermelon fruit or just display it.
