Isla Reta I and II, Talicud Island

By acelyn On November 11th, 2008

My first time to join My World Tuesday! Almost an hour boat ride from Davao City is the Talicud Island. It is known for its pristine white sand beaches. Some beach fronts are not yet developed so it does not attract a lot of beach goers. But if you are like me who wanted a more private place, I am sure you would love it there. One of the famous and pioneering resorts in Talicud Island is the Isla Reta Beach Resort - owned by the Reta family of Davao City. It’s a nice place to relax and swim!

Another 15-minute boat ride from Isla Reta Beach Resort is another paradise, the Isla Reta II. The water is so clear, and so cool, with white sand and big waves. Only few are going to this place so it is heaven for me. It is not yet developed and I hope the owners will leave it as is because it is more beautiful than having structures all around for it will only destroy the real beauty of nature.

Thank you for taking a peek at my world here in Davao City, Philippines. Visit My World’s home to see other places around the world. Happy Tuesday!

Blue Starfish at Mansod Wall

By acelyn On September 29th, 2008

We dropped by in Mansod Wall…one of the scuba diving sites in Talicud Island located in Davao. Just around the “trench” are beautiful corals in different kinds, sizes and colors. Everybody was thrilled to see such wonder. My sisters, BIL and Ace had fun snorkeling while I was taking photos of the corals from the boat. Our DSLR has no underwater casing so I can’t take photos of the corals under the water. Our youngest, Che2x, was ecstatic to see blue starfish. She got it from the water, took photos of it and put it back in its habitat before we left the place.

More critters here and weekend photos here.
