Villa de Mercedes, Toril, Davao City

The place where we had a photo shoot last Sunday. This was taken with our kit lens at 18mm. It wasn’t a great weather to shoot. I would want the sky to be blue to reflect on the pool water and everything will turn out to be a great scene overlooking Davao City and Davao Gulf at a distance. When it rained, we had to get inside the clubhouse to protect our gears and had an unplanned portraiture shoot. I had a couple of shots then I handed the cam to Ace. The clubhouse is not well lighted but the backlight (from outside the clubhouse) is good enough but it’s still kinda hard to get a decent shot because shutter is slow so I bumped up the aperture to it’s widest opening but had a problem with focusing. Just a slight move and part of the subject is already out of focus due to the shallow depth of field. So I turn to manual focus but still, I had a hard time getting the right focus because everything seemed blurry to me. It may be because of my poor eyesight. True enough my eyesight has something to do with my focusing. As I was reading some articles about photography early this morning, I come across this topic on getting the right focus and it was mentioned that eyesight plays an important role in photography specifically in getting the right focus to get sharp images. That’s it! I need to have my eyes checked for my eyesight might have deteriorated after 2 years of not visiting my optometrist. I might as well get another pair of eyeglasses for a better shooting experience that can also be used while I work.
